Fundy Theatre Works aims to promote and encourage the advancement and development of professional skills, and performance arts in our community, by creating opportunities for children, teens and adults to access, learn and practice collaborative theatre skills through musicals, plays, dance and multimedia entertainment. Performance is the real-time collaboration of skill and creativity that is both cross-disciplinary & multifaceted. FTW 's mission is to help build and expand those performance skills by providing opportunities to learn collaboratively and practice extemporaneous creativity, both on-stage and off. And, we believe, it should be fun!

At the core of FTW's mission is the understanding that the theatre community, like many other communities, is beautifully diverse and filled with varied perspectives, contributions, and challenges, and that “Theatre Kids” are more than just kids who can act and/or dance. Multiple roles must collaborate and come together to create a unified whole, and that means anybody and everybody can be a "theatre kid"- including adults! Embracing our differences and building confidence in our strengths makes us stronger individuals & community members- and you are 100% worth the time it takes to learn a new skill! 

Through FTW/FTW Kids performances and performance arts education, "theatre kids" of all ages will build public speaking skills, memory skills, and executive functioning skills, while also showcasing their talents and building their self-confidence in their abilities and their physical movement. Just like a team sport, the skills and lessons learned through performance arts are transferable to other life areas and situations, and self-confidence supports the self-awareness to put those lessons and skills to good use. So, whether you're on-stage, backstage, down in the pit, up in the booth, at the sewing machine or out measuring twice and cutting once to finish up a set piece, the show (and the team) cannot go on without you and your talents!

Theatre is not just created by actors. It is an expressive culmination of efforts, by multiple people, that is wildly creative, highly technical, and surprisingly specialized. It comprises many sub-disciplines and a vast number of participants. Cooperation is key- that’s the “community” in Community Theatre- and confidence is power!
